The 8 Year Old Travel Team Bulldogs Go 2-0 To Start The Season In The PONY League. Read The Following Games Write-Ups For All The Details !! RGMVM BULLDOGS – 18 BERGEN BEACH YOUTH TEAM – 0 The 8-year-old RGMVM BULLDOGS traveled to Brooklyn for their inaugural Pony baseball game. The Bulldogs took to the field on a great day for baseball and would bite right into the game in the first scoring 5 runs behind their hard-hitting offense. The dog pound offense would continue to feast on the opposing pitching with a barrage of line drives, who let the dogs out!!! Doing the offensive damage for the Dog Pound were. Robbie "R-Train" (2-2) Matt "the bat" Fox (3-3) Chris "Big Doggie" Piteo (3-3) Mike "Wheels" Guglielmi (2-3) Brett Buser (2-3) Chris Flaim (2-3) John Codelia (2-3) The Bulldogs would also unleash their star pitchers with Chris "big Dog" Piteo pitching a scoreless three innings striking out 8 along the way. We would then hand over to young flame-thrower Brandon Acosta who would close out the game striking out 6 over the last two innings. Congratulations to the young Bulldogs on their first victory of the season RGMVM BULLDOGS – 21 GOOD SHEPHARD - 0 The Bulldogs were unleashed Saturday at the beach to take on the Shepard boys in Brooklyn Pony league action. Once again the dog pound would send their ace Chris "big doggie" Piteo to mound to start and he would be on target striking out six over two innings. The Bulldog bats would get going early and many balls would leave the yard. Playing Home-Run derby for the Bulldogs was. Mike "wheels" Guglielmi who launched a tape measure home run in the first inning that is still traveling. Chris "Big Dog" Piteo who slammed two Home Runs into the left center field gap. Ricky Fleri would also lash a screaming drive into the left center field gap for a Home-run sending the dog pound into a frenzy. The Bulldogs would pound out several more hits on the day. Leading the charge was Brian Torres (2-3) Jonathon Murphy (1-2)Chris Flaim (2-2) Matt Fox (3-3) Robbie Hofmann (1-2) Brett Buser (2-3) The Doggies would get solid pitching the rest of the way from the "R-Train" Robbie Hofmann and Matt Fox pitching the last 3 innings striking out 8 and not allowing a base runner. With the 21 - 0 win, the Bulldogs improved to 2-0 on the young season.
