EFL Scores: Montreal 23...Green Mountain Gladiators 0 This was Burlington's first HOME game and they pulled it out, they played at Leddy Park, with portable lights, and portable goal goals. They had 150 paid fans. I was there and I give them an A+ for organization work; they had ice, water, footballs, and a medical team at the game. This was all done with a few days. On the field, both teams dressed 35 players each and played a good game, however every QB thinks each pass play should be a 60 yd deep pattern. Montreal says they are two weeks away from being a full team, but they looked good. Green Mountain had good spirit, but shot themselves in the feet with five fumbles; they need work on blocking and tackling. They have a good D Line, a good QB, TE, and running back. I stopped and caught the closing minutes of the Vermont Ice Storm game, they won 31-6 over the Monadnock (NH) Marauders. They had 500 fans but they do running time and played the game in two hours...park league. Glens Falls 39...Long Island Seahawks 7 The local paper talked about a trick play, a double pass play, that opened up the game for Glens Falls...I guess nobody remembers the old Triple Cities Jets; they always opened their game with a double pass play. Plattsburgh 13...Albany 10 (overtime) This score is correct...Plattsburgh came ready to play and very coached,Albany took the game too lightly and were thinking about next week at Scranton. Plattsburgh tied the game with an 80 yd TD pass play late in the 4th quarer and they won in overtime...after time ran out. Albany had a foul on the last play of the overtime and Plattsburgh was given one more shot, Jim Tyler kicked a 35 yd field goal to win 13-10 in overtime plus. Orange Co 27...Scranton 19 Watertown 65...St. Lawrence 10 Receiver Ernie Wash broke the Red & Black receiving record... =================================================================== NAFL Scores: Northern Tier 23...Hudson Valley (Kingston) 16 The word on the streets is that the Giants are having interior troubles, it was not sure that this game would go off, no newspaper cover, we will see how things go next week...they have to travel to Allentown to play Milford Scorpions. Springfield 28...Milford 12 Both Springfield and Northern Tier are undefeated in the NAFL, later this season they will play each other. Pittsburg Colts 6...Lancaster Lighting 0 =================================================================== NYAFL scores: Rochester Rengedes 34...Johnstown 14 Montreal Titans 19...Monroe Co Sting 0 Buffalo 19...Utica 18 Baker and the Colonials are 0-3, Montreal & Syracuse are on top with 3-0 records. They play each other twice befoe the end of the season...8/9 at Syracuse and 9/20 at Montreal. =================================================================== Eastern League: Marlboro 26...Quincy 7 This is Marlboro's first win, they lost last week 14-6 to Charlestown Townies.
