How to Upload Pictures

Posted by Jim Allen on May 10 2004 at 05:00PM PDT

Many of you have uploaded pictures for your team's web site, and that is great; kids love to see themselves playing baseball, as do their parents and other fans.

However, the number and size of pictures uploaded already have used up a large percentage of our available memory. Therefore, we must ask you to make sure your image is optimized for the web, or at 72 dots per inch (dpi) . If you are using a digital camera or a scanner, you should have some kind of imaging software that came with it that will adjust the DPI size for
you. You will need to edit and size the images before uploading them to
your site. 300 dpi will create a very large graphic file even if the image is small. For example a 1 x 1 inch image at 300dpi would be about 270k. A 1 x 1 inch image at 72 dpi would be only about 4.3k (big difference).

Please take the time to edit your uploaded pictures so there will be more room for everyone. Otherwise, we will have to "clean house" before too long, and we don't want to do that!
