The 16U St. Louis Diamond Cats had an amazing season starting in the fall of 2006 and ending at ASA Northern Nationals on August 5th, 2007.  They went 86 - 23 - 5 and won the championship in 6 of the 13 tournaments they participated in that gave out trophies.  They finished with a 9th place finish at 16U "A" AFA Nationals and a 2nd place finish at 18U "B" ASA Northern Nationals.

The Cats started their 2007 season immediately after high school ball ended in the fall of 2006.  They played in 3 fall tournaments and enjoyed a lot of success.  The team went 10 – 4 and outscored their opponents 89 – 44.  The Diamond Cats were the 16U Champions in the NSA “A” Fall Scholarship Tournament and earned a straight berth to NSA Nationals. They played in the St. Louis Exposure Tournament and went 2 – 2 playing against 16U and 18U teams.  The Cats went 2 – 2 in the Diamond Cats Fall Classic with a 5th place finish and competed well in all of their games.  They did NOT lose a game by more than 2 runs in ANY of the tournaments they participated in during the fall.

The spring/summer season was a great success.  The team played 100 games and finished 76 – 19 – 5.  They outscored all opponents 525 – 216.  The team won the 16U championship of the AFA May Madness in Columbia, and earned their berth to the AFA Nationals in Kansas City, MO.  They then won their next 2 tournaments, winning the Diamond Cat ASA Mother’s Day Tribute and the Classic’s ASA Becky Duffin Memorial Tournament at 18U.  They earned a 3rd place finish at the Heartland Classic College Exposure tournament, and then won the 18U bracket at the Missouri Pride College Showcase event.  The team then won the St. Louis Metro ASA 18U B tournament and qualified for ASA Northern Nationals. The Cats played 2 concurrent leagues, the Kirkwood 16U Gold league and the Chesterfield 18U “A” league.  They finished the Kirkwood league in 1st place with a record of 11 wins and 1 tie.  They won 1st place in the Chesterfield league and earned one of their National entry fees paid for by finishing 8 – 3 – 3. The Cats ended their season playing in 2 national tournaments.  They went 7 – 2 and placed 9th in the AFA 16U A Nationals in Kansas City, MO, and went 8 – 3 placing 2nd in the ASA 18U B Northern Nationals in St. Louis, MO.
