Minor's Two Hour Limit

Posted by Robert Posma on Jun 04 2003 at 05:00PM PDT
There have been many questions raised about how a Minor League Game ends. The interleague rules which were distributed with our rule books include the requirement that all Minor games have a 2-hour time limit. This is an absolute time limit. A game should continue until the entire two hours has elapsed even if the two hours occurs in the middle of an inning. There are a couple of exceptions which would shorten the game. 1. A full game consists of 6-innings in accordance with Rule 4.10 (a) has been played. 2. The home team is ahead by 10 runs at after 3-1/2 innings have elapsed, per Rule 4.10 (e). 3. The visiting team is ahead by 10 runs at the end of a full inning also per Rule 4.10 (e). If you have any questions regarding this, please contact Robert Posma or Robert Bell.
