UMPIRE'S NEEDED FOR EMEA REGIONAL TOURNAMENTS

Posted by Bill Carter on Sep 19 2010 at 05:00PM PDT

Effective immediately, a new process has been established, for all qualified umpires in the Little League Program, to apply to umpire in the EMEA Tournaments in Kutno Poland and other European sites.
Beata Kaszuba, EMEA Director for the European Region recently stated, “My goal is to get as many new umpires for the EMEA Regional Tournaments.
We do not have enough European umpires to work our Regional Tournaments and we always rely on umpires that come from the United States. By working with our European umpires, they contribute to EMEA more than just umpiring games; they become instructors to our less experienced local umpires, which, at the end, improves our program”.
This is a great opportunity for all umpires to work an upper level tournament and at the same time improve the program by helping less qualified umpires while being abroad.
Below is the application process and requirements:
1.  Download and fill out the EMEA Regional Application form...Click here2.  The District Administrator must approve and sign the form.
3.  Fill out a Volunteer Application Form. Your Social Security Number (SSN) is required and must be on the form along with a copy of your drivers license or state issued identification card.
download here.
4.  Forward both forms to the Regional Director for consideration.
5.  The Regional Director will review all applications and make appropriate recommendations.
6.  Background checks will be conducted on selected applicants.
7.  Recommendations will be forwarded to Little League Baseball Inc.
8.  Little League Baseball Inc. will forward all applications to the European Regional Director.
9.  The European Director will inform all Applicants, Little League Headquarters, and Regional Directors the status of each umpire, if selected or not, and notify them which tournament they will be participating in.
Note: Only volunteer umpires who have not been paid for any level of baseball or softball during regular season or tournament are eligible to apply.
All applicants are responsible for their own transportation to and from the tournaments. Umpires could receive per diem and housing at some of the European Tournament Sites.
Being recommend and approved for any European Tournament does not qualify that person for any World Series Tournaments.
If the applicant does not send all the proper documentation to the Regional Center, all paperwork will be returned to the applicant.
Forms are due at Western Regional Headquarters by November 1, 2017 for the 2018 tournaments. Any forms received after November 1, will not be considered.
Any questions on this procedure may be directed to the Regional Office 909-887-6444.
