Northville Mustangs

Saturday, the Mustangs traveled to Hazel Park to face off against Bloomfield. The game started off slow with no goals until 6:20 in the first period when Meredith Ponder finally put one past the Bloomfield goalie. Although Bloomfield tried hard and was able to keep up with the Mustangs for most of the first period, the game ended in a 10-0 win for Northville. Goals were scored by Meredith Ponder (2), Bridget Hughes, Erin Morrell, Krysten Ruzylo (2), Lisa Fishbeck, Rachel Reuter, Emily Doren, and Erin Hietala. Congratulations girls! Our next game was played today against Mercy at our home ice. Having played Mercy twice already this season (a 5-2 win and a 4-5 overtime loss), they were ready for anything. The game was fairly uneventful with no penalties or goals until the third period. Megan Beger recieved a pass from Andrea Soloko and was finally able to break the 0-0 tie. Meredith Ponder struck next putting a sliding puck past the Mercy goalie for the 2-0 win. Just 90 seconds later, Anjali Saran scored with a pass from Meredith Ponder securing the Mustangs 3-0 win. Our next game is this Saturday vs. Ladywood at Arctic Pond at 6pm.
