Jan. 27, 2007 the Lady Norsemen dropped a tough road loss at Ann Arbor 1 to 0. Despite a good defensive effort and outshooting Ann Arbor, the team could not produce a goal against the stingy goaltending and defense that the scrappy Ann Arbor squad put forth. The Lady Norsemen will look to get back to their winning ways Feb. 1st at home vs. rival GP South.
Jan. 23, 2007 the Lady Norsemen hold on at home to take an overtime victory 5 to 4 over Cranbrook. In a back and forth game, the Norsemen's usual steady defense was shaky, but the team dug deep to salvage a quality win over the top ranked Cranbrook team. Captain, Kate Z. #13, had 3 goals and 2 assists. Lauren W. #11 scored on a blistering wrist shot from the point. But the hero that scored the overtime winner at the 1:23 mark of the overtime period was sophomore phenom Alexa Q. #3 added two assits to go with her overtime winner. Overall, it was a quality win and solid team effort.
Jan. 19, 2007 the Lady Norsemen came up a little short against the high powered PCS team dropping a close game 4 to 3. After a scoreless first period, the Penguins struck first, just :15 seconds into the second. The game was an up and down game with both teams getting scoring chances. With less than 3 minutes remaining in the second, the Norsemen got a timely goal from senior Sarah H. #4 assisted by senior Phelicia V. #22. At the 1:10 mark, PCS star Katie Zimmerman scored the first of her three goals, putting PCS up 2 to 1 after 2 periods. The third period started with another early goal by PCS, scoring just 1:07 into the period followed by another tally 3 minutes later, both by Zimmerman. However, the Lady Norsemen showed some heart and determination by mounting a comeback and scoring 2 third period goals of their own. Goals were scored by Angela G. #2 and Alexa Q. #3. With an empty net, the Norsemen had two great scoring opportunities to tie the game but the PCS goaltender was up for the challenge.
