General Information for 2015-16 CHSHL

LEAGUE PLAY


Open to Intermediate and Advanced Players who are at least 22 years of age by December 31, 2015 Determination of skill level (Novice, Intermediate or Advanced) will be made by the Senior Hockey League Manager(Paul Tomann 216-990-5251).  


Plans are for 12 teams, in two divisions, based upon skill level.  The A Division is for A and advanced  B players, while the B Division is Intermediate players.   Each team will have from 13 to 14 skaters, plus a goalie.


Each team will play approximately 20-25 games, including regular season and playoffs.  Each team will play generally once per week on either Sunday (B only), Monday Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday although it is possible that a team will occasionally play two games in a given week.  Games times are yet to be determined, but are generally begin between 9:15 -10:00 pm.  Please note that the season will begin slowly due to ice availability until the South rink becomes available.


Helmets and HECC-approved face masks or half shields are required. 

 

EVALUATION INFORMATION FOR NEW PLAYERS & RETURNING PLAYERS

New players are required to attend one of the evaluation skates that will be held September 1 & 2 at the rink.  These sessions are pick-up style and will be used to determine which division is the best fit for each player.  Returning players are also welcome to attend as a warm-up for the season.  Dates/times are below:

     Tuesday, September 1, 2015 - 9:00-10:30 PM on the North Rink

     Wednesday, September 2, 2015 - 10:00 - 11:30 PM on the North Rink

 

The league will begin the week of 9/7/15 with limited ice times until the South rink reopens. 

 

REGISTRATION AND FEES 

Registration: 

We will not be offering on-line registration this year for the league.  The registration forms are located on the website in the handouts section on the left-hand side of the page.  You may also pick up a registration form at the rink or you may fill out your registration form and submit it to Paul Tomann during the pre-season evaluations.  You may pay your fees with cash or check for the league and you may pay city fees only by credit card at the front desk of the rink.  Registration forms can also be mailed to the rink with checks for the league and the city.

Fees: 

Fees for the league are broken down into city and league fees which must be paid separately. The fees are broken down below. 

 

    City Fees (paid to "The City of Cleveland Heights"):

           Cleveland Heights Residents:  $155.00

           Non-Residents:  $235.00

 

    League Fees (paid to "Cleveland Heights Senior Hockey League") 

           Returning Players:  $175.00*

           New-Players:  $195.00* 

 

    *If you did not play in 2014-15 for league purposes your are considered a new player. 

 

It is expected that all players pay their fees in full prior to the start of the season.  Non-payment of fees for either the league or city may result in expulsion from the league. 

 

RETURNING PLAYERS

 

Please notify your captains of your intent to return to the league as soon as possible.  Please note that if you are not registered by September 2nd, there may not be space on the teams for you to return.
