ONLY 90 DAYS.........
Dear Soccer Players (and family);
You did NOT read it wrong.....we have ONLY 90 days until August 6th and tryouts begin.
I know that everyone of us are very busy.....school work, jobs, spring soccer, family, girlfriends and our buddies all take up our time. It seems like we have something every minute. It isn't easy, so please manage your time wisely. Prioritize your school and family....make them your focus and let everything else fall in place. Don't waste time on non-productive activities and whatever you do, DO NOT GET STRESSED. It's not worth it.
I have to congratulate all of you for the OUTSTANDING effort you have made and continue to make to our optional offseason weightlifting. We had 21 players in the gym at 5:40am this morning to lift and this is our 14th week. A great job by everyone......don't stop because we are getting stronger, faster and more flexible.
I have had some travel for work that has impacted my ability to meet with everyone, but I do want you to know that I will be calling to make meeting arrangements here in the near future. I look forward to this meeting to assess where we are individually and what else we want to do to improve ourselves. We will get together before the end of school.
Lastly, I encourage everyone to work on their ball skills. Do the ball routine every day......juggle every day.....do ball pushups and situps every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. You will only get better IF you put the time in. You must be able to do the expectations at tryouts.

Dear Soccer Family,
I wanted to thank everyone for their support at last night's "Player/Parent" meeting. Prior to last night, I had the names of 45 young men who let me know of their plans of trying out for the team in the fall. The positive news is that 42 of those young men were either present or represented last night. A wonderful showing for a meeting that is 100+ days before tryouts. Again THANK YOU for your support.
As I shared last night....hopefully.....over the next 4 weeks I will be meeting with each player and parent to talk about your preparation for the fall. I want each of you to make great improvement over the next 15 weeks. We will outline a plan that will give you every chance to be successful. The rest will be up to you. I will contact you to set a time.
Most of you are playing spring soccer and I encourage you to give your best all the time. The area club coaches should see that there is something different about Miamisburg players. They work harder, are respectful, take instruction, play the game with integrity and love the sport. If that does not describe you.....THEN CHANGE, SO THAT IT DOES. Area clubs should be seeking out Miamisburg players because of the value they bring to their club.
Lastly, I want to encourage all returning players to continue with their weightlifting. Most experts agree that lifting while you are playing does not hurt a thing. In fact, it decreases your chance of getting injured. Make the time to lift. Get PLENTY of rest....get to bed early and really apply yourself academically. Be a great student this final quarter....your eligibility depends on it......no D's or F's on the report card.
