Coach Campbell completed his sixth year at the helm and became the career win leader for Miamisburg soccer. His focus is to provide a teaching environment where athletes can have the best opportunity for continual improvement.  His goal is for each player to reach their potential by giving their best, first time, every time in each area of their life.

In 2011, the team achieved its fourth consecutive winning season for the first time in school history and matched the second best record at 12-5-2. They also added a fourth straight Top Ten finish at #6 (highest ever) in the final Miami Valley Coaches poll, won its third OHSAA Sectional championship in the past four years and tied the school record for wins in a season (12) and least number of goals conceded in a season (20).  It was a very good year.

This is a continuation of the legacy of winning that has been built over the past four seasons. In 2009, the Vikings won their very first conference championship and Coach Campbell was recognized as the GWOC South Coach of the Year. In 2008, the Vikings completed the second best season ever (12-5-2) and Coach Campbell hit the trifecta for Coach of the Year honors. He was recognized as the GWOC South Conference, the Dayton South and the Miami Valley District Coach of the Year.

Upon his arrival in 2006, Coach Campbell brought to the program over 35 years of soccer experience.  His coaching career began in the amateur club ranks in the mid-80's.  In 1988, he became the head coach for the West Carrollton Pirates.  In his four years in charge, he turned the program into a winner and was voted the Dayton South Coach of the Year in 1991.  Ric spent the next 15 years coaching U9-U15 youth select players.

Prior to coaching, he had a rewarding playing career.  He was a four-year varsity starter for Dayton Christian high school where he earned numerous All-Area, All-District and All-State honors. His All-American collegiate career was spent at NAIA and NCCAA soccer power, Judson University. He led them to three national tournament appearances, finishing national runner-up in 1982, as well as graduating as the school's All-Time scoring leader.  His name is still scattered throughout the school's record books some 25 years later.  In 2005, he was the 4th soccer player inducted into Judson University's Athletic Hall of Fame.

He is still very active with youth soccer completing his 10th year on the Miamisburg Soccer Association Board of Directors.  A long-time resident of Miamisburg, he is married to his college sweetheart, Connie, and has two sons, Tyler and Travis.
