Shanghai Vikings FC
Shanghai Vikings was established back in 1995 when a few Danes working in Shanghai decided to form a football club offering a mix of competitive football and the best social environment imaginable. The team that started out being Danish has throughout the years grown in popularity and now also attracts many international and local talents, which adds to the attractive culture and team spirit that we pride ourselves on.
Shanghai Vikings is known to “play hard and play hard”. We show on the pitch ready for battle, we fight the entire length of the game, and after the final whistle we bring the battle to our proud sponsor bar, Big Bamboo, which houses the Shanghai Vikings and offers various special discounts on food and drinks.
We honor our Danish Viking heritage by wearing our famous Viking helmets. The helmet is not gained just by playing for the team, nor can it be purchased. The helmet is earned by the brave Viking prospects that fit our team ethos, both on and off the pitch. The love for the helmet is great and although it can easily be traded for a pair of virgin panties it must never leave a Viking head. Once you earned a helmet you belong to the team, and the team belongs to you. If you prefer to join a team that kicks you out whenever another new young pretty-boy arrives to town then the Shanghai Vikings is not for you. The Shanghai Vikings honors loyalty and as Vikings we always stand together.
Every year the Shanghai Vikings embarks on a crusade to conquer the famous Viking Cup. Around 200+ Vikings and families gather for an unforgettable three days that will be on everyone’s lips all until the Viking Cup the year after. Shanghai Vikings won the cup in 2006 and 2008 and the much more prestigious Beer drinking trophy in 2012 and 2014. All former Viking Cup participants know that the Viking Cup is not just for heroes. The Viking Cup is for legends!
