HHS LOSES TO WILSON CENTRAL 10-4

The Commandos saw a 4-2 lead in the 5th inning turn in to a 10-4 loss on Wednesday night in the first District 9AAA contest of the year.  HHS drops to 1-1 on the year and 0-1 in District play.

Second baseman Drew Trice broke open a 4-all game with a fifth inning grand slam as Wilson Central exploded for eight runs in the bottom of the fifth in Wednesday night's 10-4 victory over Hendersonville.

Trice finished 3-for-5 and scored two runs from the leadoff spot, while Ethan Shelton started the fun with a two-run HR to tie the game at 4-4 earlier in the fifth. Shelton also had a single and a double to finish with three RBI.

Shortstop Cullen Smith had a pair of singles and scored twice while Dawson Hamilton had a two-run double.

Ryan Hill started and went 4.2 innings, scattering six hits and striking out six.

Lefty Andrew Franklin (1-0) picked up the decision with 1.1 innings of relief, before giving way to Jake Davis who retired the side in the seventh.

Cooper Brenning had two RBIs for the Commandos in the loss.
