HHS LOSES TO MT JULIET 6-4

Posted by Andy Gilley on Mar 17 2015 at 05:00PM PDT

The Commandos opened play in District 9AAA by falling to Mt Juliet 6-4.

HHS led early 4-0 after a first inning which saw the Commandos get four hits.  Drew Richard opened the game with a lead off walk and moved to second on a single from Connor Fischer.  A Ben Smith grounder moved the runners to second and third.  Grant Williams walked to load the bases before Jarcques Wordlaw drove in Richard with a ground ball to second.  Williams and Fischer scored on an RBI double from Cooper Brenning to make the score 3-0.  Courtsey Runner Aris Welden came around to score on an Austin Brown single to give HHS a 4-0 lead.

The Bears rallied for 2 in the bottom of the first to make the score 4-2.  HHS would strand several runners in scoring position over the next three innings and Mt Juliet took the lead after two costly HHS errors in the bottom of the 5th as the Bears scored 3 times to lead 5-4.  HHS would mount one final scoring threat in the top of the 7th but two runners were left on base as Mt Juliet got the win.
