HHS GOES 4-0 IN WILSON COUNTY INVITATIONAL

The Commandos went 4-0 over the weekend in the Wilson County Invitational.

HHS allowed just 4 runs in the four games as the Commando pitching staff threw three shutouts. 

GAME 1 HHS 13 TROUSDALE CO 0 

Freshman Cameron Hansen got his first career win in his first career start for the Commandos against Trousdale County.  Hansen pitched 5 innings of 1-hit baseball striking out 9.  Freshmen Keaton Wilson pitched the 6th and final inning retiring the side in order.

Jon Swindle and Austin Mays led the Commando offense with two hits each.  Swindle drove in three runs on the day.  

GAME 2 HHS 9 FRIENDSHIP CHRISTIAN 4 

Another Freshmen Hayden Layne picked up his first career win throwing five innings of scoreless 2 hit relief against Friendship Christian.  Layne struck out 2 and walked none in his first career outing.  Jon Swindle, Aaron Weakley and Brandon Fuller all scored two runs each to lead the Commando offense to the 9-4 win.

GAME 3 HHS 13 ANTIOCH 0 

Junior Matt Nicoll picked up his first career win and a complete game shutout as the Commandos defeated the Bears.  Nicoll struck out 6 and allowed 1 hit in the complete game effort.  Aris Welden had two hits and Andrew Larson scored three runs to lead a balanced HHS offense in the win.

GAME 4 HHS 3 GORDONSVILLE 0

Senior Ian MacMaster got his first win of the year on the mound tossing three scoreless innings before turning things over to 4 Commando relievers out of the bullpen to finish off the Tigers of Gordonsville.  MacMaster, Andrew Dorris, Will Wacaser, Hayden Mullins and Brandon Fuller combined to shutout the Tigers on one hit while striking out 9.  HHS got its three runs in the fourth inning.  MacMaster drove in a run with an RBI grounder and Andrew Larson had a two-run two-out single to put the game at its final score of 3-0.
