Frisco 71 - Clear Lake 61, Game 2 of The Tommy Thomas Classic Tournament

Posted by Donald Wilkerson on Dec 26 2010 at 04:00PM PST

Clear Lake 61 - Frisco 71

Frisco (District 9 4A, ranked 16th in the state  in 4A). After an unimpressive close victory in their first round game against Grapevine, it appeared Lake would handle the Raccoons with aplomb but the 'coons #24 Ben Dillard (son of college basketball coach Sherman Dillard, currently an assistant coach for the Iowa Hawkeyes) and # 23 Pierce Lahey thought otherwise. Despite streaky performances by Dillard in both games, the duo combined for a total of 42 points to deny the Falcons their aspirations of continuing in the winners bracket.

The Raccoons tallied 28 of 34 free throws to outscore the Falcons by 16 points at the charity stripe. Poor outside shooting did not help the Falcons cause either.

The Falcons will face Leander at 12:30 pm Tuesday.
