Clear Lake 78 - La Porte 68 Tuesday night Clear Lake hosted a very game La Porte Bulldogs team. La Porte proved to be a worthy adversary as they kept the game close and led at times. At the half it was Lake up by 2 38-36. Once again Lake's strong third quarter showing made a difference as they widened the gap to 61-48 to close the 3rd period. The game felt close until the last 6 minutes.
Long time Clear Lake fan Joe Chambliss believes Lake will make their free throws when they have to. He was certainly correct this outing as strong free throw shooting by Lake made all the difference. Will West went 11 of 12 from the line as the Falcons shot 22 of 29 from the stripe while the Dogs scored 9 of 11 from free throws - a difference of 13 points from free throws (Lake won by 10).
In a close ball game free throws make all the difference just as they did in this game. Let's hope the Falcons continue to do well from the line.
