Coach Matt Frye

After spending his first three seasons as Coach Pender's assistant at Angleton High School, Matt started his career at Clear Lake High School in 2009-10.

Matt was born June 4, 1982 in the Houston area. He grew up in Sugarland and attended Fort Bend Baptist Academy where he played under coach Paul Mills who is now the Head Coach at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After high school, Frye attended Texas Lutheran University in Seguin, Texas from 2001 to 2006 and was a member of the Men's Basketball team coached by Tom Oswald. During this time he was named Academic All-Conference twice. In 2006, Matt graduated with a degree in Composite Social Studies and English.

Matt is married to the former Stephanie Pena. They met while both were teachers at Clear Lake High School. They have one daughter, Edie Diane. Matt's parents, John and Genie Frye, reside in League City. Matt has one brother, Tim Frye, who resides in Atlanta Georgia.
