Marc Gernander- JV Coach
Birthday: August 5
Born and reared in Duluth, Minnesota. One of three boys and five girls
Attended Duluth Cathedral High School where he lettered in basketball, baseball, and tennis. Attended the University of Minnesota; graduated from the University of Houston with a BA in History.
Taught two years at Bondy Intermediate (Pasadena), served 1 year freshman coach and two years as varsity assistant at South Houston High School.
The 2017-18 school year is Marc's 14th year at Clear Lake. Marc is married to Tammy and they have a son, Blake, who will graduate from Lake in 2020.
"I love coaching. I get the opportunity to get closer to the kids than I would in a normal classroom setting, while helping them develop into fine players and more disciplined young men. For me that is fun to watch."
FYI: Marc's father retired as the head basketball coach at San Jacinto Junior College and Marc's brother was the last basketball coach at San Jac. Both had very successful careers while there.
