Bill Alvaro hung in through seven tough innings and 125 pitches and Dale Amos, collected two doubles, two walks, three steals, and two RBI as the Senators handled the Voorhees Angels by a 7-4 tally. Gene Michalski pitched the scoreless eighth to notch a save.
It wasn't the purtiest of wins, but a win's a win's a win, I guess.
The Senators will take a week off for the Memorial Day holiday and then resume play on June 4 in a twin-bill at Notre Dame Field against the newcomers, the Marlton Athletics. This is an 8:00 AM start. Pitching and lineups will be announced as we get closer to the date. If anyone is NOT making that doubleheader, please let me know.
We will NOT have BP this Thursday, but will resume the following Thursday, June 1. The makeup game vs. Red Sox for June 8 remains tentative at this writing.
