Steele Canyon High School Women's Soccer

The Cougars arrived for the 4:30pm game at 4:24 and never got ready to play, losing to Helix 3-0 in the Grossmont South League Opener. After beating the Highlanders last month 3-2, the Cougars never threatened as Helix dominated play throughout the game. Coach Charlie stated, "I don't want to blame the bus issue, but it's very hard to get ready to play a 90 minute match with a limited warm-up. By the time we're warm-up, we're down and it's extremely hard to come back on a very good team like Helix. This happens everytime we ride the bus. I'm done with transportation. It's not worth having the girls not ready to play these tough league games. But again, late or not, we did not arrive to play this very important game. Hopefully the girls get up for Valhalla. I believe they will!"
