Minutemen Post Season Awards

The team's post season party proved to be a huge success!!! Newly appointed Co-captain JP#44 and captain Crusty#59 did a great job letting everyone know about the event. Special thanks to Ruben's darling wife, Karen Costa, for handling the arrangements for the hall and the food!!! You can E-mail her a note of thanks @ Kstar141@hotmail.com (please do, it would be great) Approx. 30 members of the squad were present to eat, drink, and be merry. The coaches and BOD gave out special recognition to players for their outstanding efforts to the 2001 season. Although there are many standouts who deserve recognition, only a few trophies could be given. Special thanks to Mr. Pearson (#44's Dad)for being our official camera crew. Costa presented Mr. P with a Minutemen jersey as a token of our thanks. Rookies of the year: Christian "Sammy" Samuel #66 Jim "JDogg" Cournoyer #89 Sackmaster: Anthony "Don Juan" Neves #95 Linemen of the Year: Xavier "X-man" Caruthers #64 Offensive Player of the Year: Ray-Shawn "Platinum Lynx" Link #82 Defensive P.O.Y.: Aubrey "Aubdawg" Souza #96 Unsung Hero Award: Captain Ruben "Crustydawg" Costa #59 The Coaches also recognized the 3 2001 Captains: Vern James #28 Brian Johnson #94 Ruben Costa #59 ...and the 2001 Minutemen 2001 MVP Award was given to the work horse of the offense. His hard work and dedication were truly monolithic. This honor was given to who else, but the Brusin' Fullback..... Jay Pearson #44 Pearson was also named a 2002 Captain and was appointed by Costa as the new Player Rep. He also surprised Coaches Nelson Lucca and Gary Stiffler with certificates of appreciation signed by the Minutemen Players. Pearson also honored Captain and Team VP, Ruben Costa for all of his hard work on and of the field. Again, thank you all for all of your support, hard work, and love of football...Let's get ready for "OUR CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON in 2002"!!!!!!!! Happy Holidays!!! All-Star Game!!!

The All-Star game will be held next May. It was the NEFL's decision to host this great event next year. The main reasons were because of the NAFA Championship Games and inpart do to the availablity of fields. The coaches and captains will be submitting their selections. Please, No begging!!!

Minutemen Already Working on Next Season

The MInutemen Coaches and Staff are already planning for next year. Recruiting in key positions and adding some new members to the Minutemen Coaching Staff have begun. Captain Costa and 2002 Captain, Jay Pearson #44, have been communicating w/ the players to prepare for next year. Costa and Pearson have put together a Flag Football team, Costa is preparing an off-season training venue @ WHR Fitness, and Coach Nelson is putting together an indoor/outdoor conditioning camp. Thanks to all who have supported the Minutemen. Updates will be posted!!!

Post-Season Party

Attention all players and coaches: There will be a team party/ meeting for all 2001 players. Novenber 30th, 2001 @ 7:00pm Hide-Away-Cove (formerly Club Ice) Carter ave., Blackstone, MA Directions: 495 to exit 18 follow 126 to Woonsocket or 16 take King St. To Woonsocket. Head down Pulaski Blvd. (like you're going to the Gym) After you see Ames Plaza on Right, keep going straight. Take first right at Traffic light. ***This will be Diamond Hill Rd. Keep going through the next set of lights (Rathbun St. and Diamond Hill Rd) go staight you will going behind a cementary and there will be water on your left. Keep going until you come to an intersection. Take left @ stop sign. The hall will on your immediate right. It's and Old Ice House. The hall entrance will be a set of Double doors. Directions from 146, get on Rt. 99 take left off exit. Bear Left at 1st Gas station. Follow Mendon rd. 2nd set of lights will be the Intersection of Diamond Hill and Mendon. Take Left onto Diamond Hill Rd. Follow until you come to 2nd set of lights. Then follow directions above ***. ALL Uniforms and Equipment must be returned at this time. We are taking inventory and having the US flag sewn on all jerseys. They will also be professionally cleaned. We are ordering more jerseys for next season. New #'s. Food and prizes will be provided. As of now, this party is for team players ONLY. There might be entertainment provided. Guest may be allowed with prior notification. Guest will have to pay for their food. $5-$7 per person. NO Alcohol will be purchased by the MINUTEMEN. You must purchase your own beverages. DO NOT try to sneak in any alchohol. There are 4 pool tables available. We need someone w/ some tunes. Please pass this along to other team mates There will be a team meeting prior to the party to discuss the 2002 season and pre-season trainings.
