This game will be a full game with modifications much like an All-Star Game

The Reason for this Game:

On December 21st, 2003, Aaron J. Lemieux, born January 1st 1985,  was killed in an alcohol related automobile accident. Aaron is the little cousin of Team Manager, Ruben Costa. Aaron's parents are Joseph and Donna Lemieux. He is survived by 2 sisters, Krystal and Michaela, and has a niece, Emma and nephew, Shane.

"AJ" as his family called him, was much like many other kids. He loved sports, bicycles, skateboards, his friends, snakes, and his favorite, paint ball. "AJ" idolized his Dad who is a successful and talented carpenter who learned from his Dad. Aaron wanted to follow in both his father's and grandfather's footsteps and become a skilled tradesman. He learned at a young age and shortly after high school became a foreman's assistant at Duksta Construction.

Aaron had just recently became engaged to his girlfriend Heather, who had a 2 year old daughter, the day before his death. He was young man who truly loved his finance and the little girl. Even at a young age, he felt a deep responsibility to raise this little girl in a family environment. Aaron was to adopt Little Leigha as his own daughter since he was the man she called "Daddy".

AJ, a former Redskin football player and avid Paint-Ball Competitor, was the passenger in a vehicle that was driven by a "friend" that allegedly had consumed great amounts of alcohol. After celebrating his engagement with friends, the two decided to get some late night food and bring it back to their home where others awaited their return. The driver, insisting he was "OK TO DRIVE"  sped through the streets of Woonsocket and lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle hit a brick building tearing it apart sending Aaron from the vehicle. Aaron was still alive but suffered severe internal injuries and many broken bones while his "friend", barely injured fled the scene on foot leaving his "Friend" dying on a bitterly cold winter's night. The driver later turned himself in approximately 10 hours later. He was taken into custody but was later released on a mere $1000 cash bail. The justice system hard at work.

The Lemieux Family was notified of this tragic accident shortly after midnight and quickly headed to the hospital where Aaron was brought to. The injuries he sustained were very severe and proved to be fatal. Were the injuries to blame for his death or was it someone who failed to use better judgement when consuming alcohol? Aaron was pronouned dead while his parents stood over him and were in disbelief creating a state of shock due to what just happened. In the wee hours, just before sunrise, an entire family received news that would forever change their lives and would cause tears to roll down their cheeks. Sadness, despair, and anger took over an entire family while others were preparing to celebrate a joyous Christmas. They had one question..."WHY?"! A cousin, a nephew, a grandson, a Dad, a finance, a brother, an uncle, and a son...Now gone forever.  The driver, alive and at large.

A recent engagement, a new family member just born and another on the way, Christmas coming, AJ's 19th Birthday on New Year's Day...So many things to celebrate but now pure sadness overtook the family. A truly horrific moment in ones life that can not be put into words. No words can express the feeling when a young person dies in such a horrible accident. A parent is not supposed to bury their child!

The Sentinels ask for your support with this fundraising effort. We will be giving the family the proceeds to help with the remaining funeral expenses and we will donate a portion to M.A.D.D. as an in-memory gift in Aaron's name. We hope our efforts will also serve as a reminder to all people "To think before you drink". A redundant statement but could prevent tragedies like this from happening to your family.
