Cobalt Train Runs Out of Steam....Finishes 3rd Place in World Series

Posted by Mark Dietz on Oct 28 2006 at 05:00PM PDT
Taking the field for the 9th time in 6 days, the Cobalts spotted Pittsburgh an eight run early lead and couldn't come back, finally falling 11-6 in the Semi Final Championship Game. Cobalts limped into this one with blown hammies, quads, calfs, roto-cuffs, and a bit short-handed but never gave up. Brian Akers once again lead the offense and his .435 Tournament Batting Average won him the Team's MVP Award...Akes, as usual, left it all out on the field and played almost all 81 innings in center field. Thanks to all Cobalts for a great run and fun trip to our seventh World Series.appreciate everyone's committment to the cause! image
