Cobalts Take Care of Their Business, Beat Suds 15-7

Posted by Mark Dietz on Sep 14 2005 at 05:00PM PDT
The Cobalts advance to the Southwest Ohio Roy Hobbs Championship round after a convincing 15-7 victory over the previously unbeaten Cincinnati Suds. (Frank) Arnold once again has "gone wild" and went deep with bases juiced to get the Cobalts off to a 4-0 lead. Mike Wagner followed with a 3-run bomb of his own while throwing 176 pitches in a hard fought Win. Battling out of jams all night, Wags humped it when he needed it. TR O'Brien came in to close the door earning a Save going 2 1/3 of great work depsite the obvious body discomfort (or just bad pooh cramps). Tom Taylor also went extra large with a "seal-the-deal" homer in the top of the 9th. Stiggy, Bo, Monster, and Daddy Hat all had multiple hits with doubles and RBIs aplenty. The Win gives the Cobalts several days off while the bottom bracket teams (all with 1 loss) battle for the chance to play the Cobalts in the Championship. Cobalts need only 1 victory (in two potential games) to earn another jewel in their crown. Championship: Sunday, September 25. Great Game 'Balts !!!image
