"Jumbo" Infield Helps Cobalts Over Rangers 17-5

Posted by Mark Dietz on Aug 28 2005 at 05:00PM PDT
The Cincinnati Cobalts brought out the Jumbo Package Sunday morning to finish the 2005 Regular Season with a victory over the Rangers 17-5. Keith Becker took the hill and got the win after striking out 11 batters and giving up only 1 earned run. El Vic-a-tor finished with an inning of only 1 unearned run. The Jumbo Package was officially the heaviest infield ever recorded in Semi Pro Baseball. Over 1,200 pounds of Cobalt Flesh blocked-up the infield including Spriggs Monster (3b), Boo (2b), Coach (1b), and Becker (P). Let's just say Dougy's 180 lbs. at shortstop looked anorexic. The Big Kids also contributed with the sticks: Boo went 3-3 (HR, 3 RBIs) Monster went 4-5 (2 doubles, 3 RBIs) Coach went 1-2 (2 sacs, 2 RBIs, 1 Sizzler) Playoffs begin after Labor Day...Gear up!image
