Posted by Cecil Wright on Jul 23 2011 at 05:00PM PDT

Colin Johnson of the Dartmouth Moosehead Dry had an offensive week to remember in the Nova Scotia Senior Baseball League and has earned the Cleve’s Source for Sports Player of the Week Award for his power display. Johnson went 7 for 17, an impressive .412 clip, but his slugging percentage of 1.058 made the numbers even more noteworthy. Johnson had 2 home runs, one a 2-run blast, the other a 3-run towering blow, a triple, 3 doubles, and a single to comprise his total hits, he also had 3 sacrifice flies. He drove in an incredible 15 runs, with 7 in one game and 5 in another against the Sydney Sooners. He more than doubled his season’s RBI production from 13 to 28, taking over the league lead in that department.

Other players who had outstanding performances during the week were Halifax’s Mark Haverstock and Steve Ivey, the Sooners’ Paul Doucette, Truro’s Joe MacPherson, Kentville’s Kevin Nichols, and Johnson’s teammates, Joel Irvine and Craig Langille
