Wildcats Win Game 1, Sooners Win Game 2

The Kentville Wildcats picked up game 1 in Sydney by a score of 11-10. Kevin Nichols was the winning pitcher, Codey Shrider had a 3 run home run and pitched for the save. Curtis Falls hit a solo home run and Mike Lockhart hit a 3 run home run. Paul Doucette was the losing pitcher, Sean Ferguson and Jordan Shepard went deep for the Sooners.

The Sooners won game 2, 6-4.

Sydney Hitters: 5 singles, 3 of those singles bunched together in the 6th with a walk to score Sooner four runs to take a lead after trailing 3 – 1. Sooner singles: Cory Christie, Phil Brown, Kenny Long, Josh Forrest, Jeff MacKinnon.

 

Kentville Hitters: Mike Lockhart: first inning 2 run home run, single

                             Billy MacKenzie, Alex Ostrov: double and single each.

                             Curtis Falls, Colby Turple: 2 singles each.

 

Kentville threatened in the top of the ninth, trailing 6-4, they loaded the bases with 1 out, with Sooners reliever Anthony Ianetti striking out the last two batters, his third strikeout of the inning, in front of a large Sydney hometown crowd.

 

 

 

Series returns to Kentville on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 5/6, (3:00 and 7:00 Saturday) (1:00 on Sunday)
