In game one of a twinbill at the Mainland Common, Nate Brewer silenced the Halifax offense while the Sydney bats struck early and often on their way to a 10-0 shutout of the Canadians. Brewer allowed 7 singles and watched as batterymate Matt Denney swung the big stick with a pair of two-run singles and knocked in five runners. Sean Ferguson and Chris Farrow knocked in a pair of runners each for the Sooners while Pat Gilbert and Mark Pelham each singled twice for Halifax. Brandon MacKinnon took the loss.

Sean Ferguson lined two singles and knocked in three while Jordon Sheppard singled three times knocking in a pair to pace the Sooners. Pat Gilbert connected for four singles while Mark Pelham singled and plated Gilbert.
