Home teams win playoff openers

The Dartmouth Moosehead Dry and Halifax Pelham Canadians defended home turf to open the best-of-seven semifinals tonight.

At Beazley Field, Matt Thomas paced the hosts with four hits and five RBI in a 14-2 victory over the Kentville Wildcats.
