Two costly errors with two outs each inning, cost the Sooners 4 runs, and turned out to be the difference in the ball game. 2nd game of the two game set goes on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Susan McEachern Memorial Ball Park in Sydney. Cam Marling for Dartmouth and Sooners’ Justin Brewer are expected to match up in the pitching dual.
Sydney recognized three members of their 2013 team with special presentations in the middle of the fifth inning. Steve Gauvin was presented with the Susan MacEachern Volunteer of the Year Award, while Jordon Shepherd and Paul Doucette were acknowledged for their Alstar Team selection in the 2013 season. A large crowd was in attendance on a great weather night for baseball in Sydney.
A moment of silence was offered acknowledging a former Alumni player of the Sooner, Sandy Burns Jr., who passed away this past winter. Burns was one of the original playersa on the first Sooner team in 1977.
