Field finalized for senior nationals
The field has been finalized for the 2009 Canadian senior baseball championship which begins in 10 days in Dartmouth and Halifax.
The
tournament will feature the host Dartmouth Moosehead Dry, national champion in 1998 and 2004. Nova Scotia is being represented by the Halifax
Pelham Canadians, the reigning provincial champion.
Other
Atlantic teams include the St. John’s WINMAR Capitals from
Newfoundland and Labrador, and two New Brunswick entrees -- the Fredericton Royals,
the 2008 New Brunswick champions, and the 2008 runner-up Chatham
Ironmen.
Quebec is represented by Team Quebec, while the Windsor Stars will represent Ontario. Rounding
out the championship contenders are Manitoba’s Brandon Marlins, the
Fort Saskatchewan Athletics from Alberta, and the Trail, B.C., Orioles.
