Wamback wins in Wildcats debut, Bearcats beat Dry in rain-shortened game
Former Montreal Expos farmhand Trevor Wamback made his first appearance for the Kentville Wildcats tonight, throwing five shutout innings as Kentville recorded a 7-0 victory over host Halifax Pelham Canadians at the Mainland Common.
At the TAAC Grounds in Truro, the Bearcats downed the Dartmouth Moosehead Dry 8-6 in a game called after five innings because of rain. Bill MacKenzie led the Truro bats with two singles and a double, and Joe MacPherson belted a two-run homer. Chris Goodie and Chris Head singled and doubled for Dartmouth.
