The Halifax Pelham Molson Canadians scored four runs in the first inning highlighted by three doubles but had to come from behind to defeat the Sydney Sooners 7-6 on a balmy evening at the Mainland Common. Adam Lucas reached safely in five trips with a double, two singles, two walks and knocked in four runners, while Jake Pelham, Brandon Devlin and Ryan Veinot had two hits each. Josh Pelham drove in the game winning run with a single in the eighth inning. These two teams play a doubleheader today at the Mainland Commom with the first pitch scheduled at Noon.
