Dry defeat Manitoba, await word on quarterfinal berth
Steve Nelson limited the Brandon Marlins of Manitoba to six hits and lead the Dartmouth Moosehead Dry to a 3-1 victory this afternoon at Beazley Field at the 2009 Canadian senior baseball championship.
Dartmouth finishes round-robin play with a 2-2 record, and awaits the outcome of the Ontario-New Brunswick 2 game, scheduled to start at 4 p.m., to determine their fate. An Ontario win, and Dartmouth advances. A win by New Brunswick 2 creates a three-way tie and Baseball Canada's tie-breaking formula will need to be implemented. The Ontario-New Brunswick 2 score will factor into the tie-breaking formula.
