Jim "Rico" McEachern announced today that star outfielder Beau Chiasson of his Sydney Sooners has decided to call it a career. Chiasson announced his retirement this week after an outstanding career that saw him become one of the Sooners' biggest stars and an assistant coach wih McEachern. A role model for the younger players, Chiasson played the game with class, hustle, and determination. He was runner-up in last year's MVP voting, was an all-star outfielder, and a member of the silver medallists, Dartmouth Moosehead Dry, at last year's national championships. He also set a new standard for the league last season becoming the only player to steal second, third, and home in succession, obviously a record never to be broken.

The Sooners and the NSSBL say thank you to Beau and wish him the very best, and hope to see him at the ballpark.
