The ESF European Junior Men's Fastpitch Championships are being held now (July 11-18, 2004) in Le Thallay, France.
In the marquee matchup (Israel vs. France), Israel beat France 15-11.
The French team jumped to a 7-1 lead in the 1st as pitcher Elyaeed Young of Dimona walked 5 and had the jitters. He settled down & walked none the rest of the game & the Israeli offense came back running wild.
Yaniv Gohary had a big hit that scored 2 and Golan Halley put the nail in the coffin with a laser double. Golan also walked twice & scored three times.
Albert Sarkovich had 2 RBI,s & played great D behind the place and at 3B.
Yonatan Kunda was the defensive star at 2B & SS and Golan made a nice catch in RF & an unassisted DP at 3B.
Next games: Slovakia & G. Britain.
Dawg Michael Moronov is also on the Junior Men's roster.
Weather is cold & cloudy but it didn't rain yesterday.
Interesting to note that the French are very concerned about security & we have police & army (!!!) guarding us at all times.
