Indians Take Second In AVBL Regular Season!

Posted by Donald Comer on Nov 29 2001 at 04:00PM PST
The Shenandoah Indians took second place this year but lost in a heartbreaker against the Woodstock Raiders 1-0. The rain haulted game left the Indians with a runner on in the bottom of the seventh inning. The downpore washed away the hopes of the Indians reaching the championship game for the second straight time. The Edinburg Athletics won the championship defeating the Woodstock Raiders. Congratulations to both of these teams this year, it was a pleasure to play both of them. Hats off to the managers Ted Lyton and Craig Orndorf respectively and a thank you goes out to Chuck Evert for taking on the job of President again this year! The Indians are hoping to enter the Rockingham County Baseball League(RCBL) next year. The Page County school board approved use of the field for Indians for the 2001 RCBL season. A meeting will be held on Dec. 3 to find out if the Indians will be accepted. imageimage
