BUCS SPLASH THROUGH KENT COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP

Three seniors, Chad Carpenter, Keith Short and Scott Hall, each placed among the top 15 finishers to earn All-Kent County honors Tuesday in the Kent County Championships at Schutte Park. Sophomore Lindsay Kenton narrowly missed All-county by one place. Overall, the boys finished third out of seven teams behind Dover and CR, while the girls finished fourth. Joey Palumbo, Rashad Matthews, Justin Bloom and Chris Demby rounded out the varsity finishers for the boys, while Amber Zedney, Jessica Fitzpatrick, Erica Godwin, Candice Young, Amanda Meade and Megan Pastor completed the girls varsity. Josh Chilcote, Andrew Meade and Brandon Rogers each ran career-best times. Click on the above headline for complete results.

BUCS WRAP UP REGULAR SEASON AS WINNERS

With 24 runners earning their best home-course times of their careers on Wednesday, the boys and girls cross country teams wrapped up their regular seasons with winning records. The boys beat Seaford and fell to Dover to finish 6-5 for the season, while the girls lost a pair to finish 7-4 overall. Rashad Matthews scored his first varsity finish with a career-best 19:20 and Mike Pastor and Brandon Rogers also scored career-best times for the boys. For the girls, Erica Godwin, Monica White and Tricia Gerken all earned their career-best times, while Megan Pastor added her season-best. The Bucs compete in the Kent County Championships next Tuesday at Schutte Park in Dover. Click on the above headline for complete results and pix.

BUCS SHINE AT BELLEVUE WITH CAREER BESTS

Chad Carpenter and Lindsay Kenton each bettered their MHS All-time Fastest 5K times to lead 19 Buc runners to career-bests at Bellevue State Park in Friday's Bellevue Invitational. Carpenter ran a 16:44 -- just 10 seconds off a school record, while Kenton ran a 21:40 to move up as the school's eighth fastest female. Scott Hall, Joey Palumbo, Robert White, Chris Battaglia, Chris Pettyjohn, Matt Holloway, Christian Dubsky, Andrew Meade, Michael Pastor, Brandon Rogers, Jessica Fitzpatrick, Erica Godwiin, Candice Young, Rosie Seagraves, Maire O'Neill, Monica White and Tricia Gerken each earned their best times. Congratulations go out to Matt Gordineer and Amy Mallamo who won the Milford High School Cross Country Boosters fourth annual Reindeer Stampede 5K or 1.5-mile walk Saturday.
