Senior captain Lindsay Kenton capped her four-year career in style, finishing as the team's top runner with a 22:14 -- her best time ever at Killens Pond -- helping the girls to a sixth place finish out of 24 teams in the Division II state championship Saturday. Jackie Creasey, Erica Godwin, Marissa McDonnell and Tricia Gerken each ran their Killens best to close out the MHS scorers. Jessica FitzPatrick and Tahnisha Colson rounded out the varsity finishers with solid times. Andrew Meade ran a strong 18:52 to lead the boys, who finished 22nd. Robert Calhoun broke 20 and Matt Esposito followed closely with his Killens-best. Henry Wilson, James Starnes, Logan Moreau and Andre Purnell rounded out the team's finishers. Andrew Meade and Jackie Creasey paced the boys and girls varsity, respectively, at the Henlopen Conference Championships at Killens Pond on Saturday. Meade finished 17th overall, just missing All-Henlopen recognition with a Killens-best 18:31, while Creasey ran a solid 22:25 to place 22nd. As a team, the girls finished fourth ahead of rival Lake Forest and just behind Cape, while the boys finished 11th -- just 24 points from the seventh spot. In all, 21 runners earned their best Killens time. Erica Godwin, Elizabeth Butterly, Lindsay Kenton followed Creasey with gutsy performances in the No. 23, 24 and 25 spots, while Marissa McDonnell rounded out the scoring pack in 29th place. The girls junior varsity took first, led by top 10 medalists Tahnisha Colson (23:48), Tricia Gerken, Candice Young, Meredith Muskovich, Jody George and Alicia Sanchez, who each ran their best Killens time and/or a career-best time. Robert Calhoun busted out a career-best 19:43 as the boys' No. 2 behind Meade, while Andre Purnell -- the boys' lone senior -- ran a career-best 21:49 to make the top seven for states next week. Freshman Alan Lane shaved nearly two minutes to run a career-best 23:05, while Mike Pastor, Brian Cisneros, Anthony Kramlich, Erin and Becky Clendaniel and Latrice Whidbee ran career times. Seniors DeShauna Purnell, Rosie Seagraves and Maire O'Neill added solid finishes to their outstanding careers. In middle school action, Robert Fisher ran to a 16th place medal with a 15:36 over the 2.1-mile course, while Rossiny Beaucejour (17:17), Michael Schlegel (19:07) and Miriam Miller (35:00) also competed well for the MMSCCers. Jackie Creasey, Lindsay Kenton, Erica Godwin, Marissa McDonnell and Andrew Meade each earned top 20 performances, but narrowly missed reaching the All-Kent County teams. Alicia Sanchez scored the girls' lone career-best time, while Henry Wilson, George Kershaw, Alan Lane, DeShauna Purnell, Jody George, Meredith Muskovich and Erin Clendaniel each added their fastest Killens time. MIDDLE SCHOOLERS MAKE SEASON DEBUT

The Milford Middle School cross country team made its debut versus the SeaShore Striders youth program at MHS Wednesday.
