Posted by Czar Bloom at Sep 22, 2010 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Carl Richardson cruised to a 17:23 to lead the boys to a 15-48 win over Woodbridge on a hot, humid day at Milford Millponds Nature Preserve Wednesday. Meanwhile, Kari Elzey, Jaimey Rouse, Morgan Fitzgerald-Lorah and Taylor Hoey improved times as the girls ran a trial as Woodbridge did not field a squad.

Tuttle, a rookie senior, has quickly become one of the most dedicated runners on the team. Prompt and prepared each day, he has quietly knocked out his workouts with a good plan. He has steadily improved his times, including shaving about a minute with a 27:51 in his last race.

Despite dealing with some sore shins the past couple weeks, Schulze has stuck to her workouts and has become to recover to full strength. She zipped along last Wednesday versus Seaford with a solid 28:09, a career-best that helped her to the No. 8 spot on the team.

In his third season on the varsity, Richardson put in the extra work over the summer to build on his previous seasons. With nearly a school record time of 16:40 at the Lake Forest Invitational Saturday, Richardson has secured his spot as the team’s new front runner for 2010.

Competing in her first-ever race with MHSCC at the Lake Forest Invitational on Saturday, Cole surged to a sizzling 25:51 to close out the team’s top 7 runners. No doubt her quiet, dedicated approach to mile repeats and hills earlier in the week gave her the extra edge to shine.
