Milford High School Cross Country

The Bucs capped their season in style Saturday at the state cross country championships at Bellevue State Park as the boys finished 6th and the girls 9th out of 22 teams. Individually, Chad Carpenter and Amy Mallamo each made the state's Top 15 fastest runners to guarantee themselves All-state recognition. They become only the 6th and 7th runners ever to accomplish that feat at MHS. Chad ran a career-best 16:58 to place 7th in the boys Division II race, while Mallamo ran a 20:32 to place 5th in her race. Senior captain Brigid O'Neill ran a 25:58 to end her career with a personal best, while senior Brandon Miller ran a season-best 18:36 in his final race. Boys co-captain Scott Hall and Amber Zedney each ran career-bests, while Megan Pastor added a season-best. Lindsay Kenton, Kourtney Short, Jessica Fitzpatrick, Keith Short, Stuart Barr, Justin Bloom and Joey Palumbo each ran well to round out Milford's varsity finishers.
