Milford High School Cross Country

Jessi Rivera (Class of '01) continues to improve in her freshman season at Messiah College near Harrisburg, Pa. She's currently sixth on the team. She earned her college best just recently with a stellar 19:37 as Messiah put eight girls under 20 - three under 19. Whoa! She looks to battle in her conference race this weekend at Messiah. At the Davis and Elkins Invitational in West Virginia Sept. 15, she took 8th overall as her team took six of the top eight spots to win. "The course was unreal," said Jessi, who ran a 22:18. "The hills were out of control. We also splashed through two knee deep streams and jumped over logs along the course." The next weekend at home in the Messiah Invitational, Jessi ran a 21:17, placing 13th out of 120 as the team won again. Finally, last weekend at the Dickison Invitational, teams ran two races - a 4K and a 6K. Scores from the top three finishers from each race were added together for team scores. Jessi set a cross country PR with a 15:47 (in a 4K, that is) finishing 13th out of 186. Stay tuned for more updates, y'all! :)
