Chad Carpenter ran a season-best 17:21 and Keith Short and Scott Hall ran career-best times to pace the boys to a near upset of the defending Div. II state champion Cape Henlopen on Wednesday. In the end, though, Cape eked out a 27-29 win while the boys also just missed Caesar Rodney, 25-32. Freshman Marissa McDonnell led the girls with a 24:34 as the girls fell to two top-ten teams, Cape and CR. For the boys, Jon Wyman, Chris Demby, Joey Palumbo and Justin Bloom rounded out the varsity finishers while Amber Zedney, Erica Godwin, Amanda Meade, Megan Pastor, Candice Young and Maire O'Neill scored varsity finishers for the girls.
