Four General Principles to Follow When Using This Pyramid
1. Specificity: training specifically for the sport
2. Progressive Overload: training should begin at a tolerable level and increase in intensity and volume toward target
3. Prioritization: priorities should be developed according to capabilities and sports-specific demands
4. Periodization: Certain type of training, certain portion of a training cycle, or a certain length of time within a training cycle
