Berlin 51, Platt 15 and Berlin 63, Cheshire 6 BERLIN -- C.J. McCormack (140 pounds) and Nick DiSalvo (171) won twice by fall to lead the Berlin High wrestling team to a sweep of Platt and Cheshire in a tri-meet that was rescheduled from Saturday. The Redcoats (6-3) pancaked Platt, 51-15, and overwhelmed Cheshire 63-6. John Russo, now 11-0 at 275 pounds, Mike Crowe (112), Dan Madey (125), Chris Laroche (130), Justin Giarnella (152) and Matt Powell (189) all went 2-0 on the night. Carl Ciarcia won the only bout he wrestled at 145. Berlin coach Jim Day cited 119-pounder Chris Santerre for his technical improvement despite a 2-1 loss to Platt’s Jon Franks. McCormack is now 11-1 on the season. The Redcoats return to Northwest Conference competition Wednesday with a visit to East Catholic.
