The Minutemen hosted the Coventry Youth Wrestling team on Friday, March 7 at Berlin High and walked away with a 60-34 win. The Minutemen finished the season 9-1 in dual meet competition. Winning by pin on the night were: Matt Cote, Jeremy Eliades, and Ricky Mullins (2 wins). Winning by Technical Fall was Ryan Bisson who returned after being out for a month with a broken thumb. He also won two other matches on the evening. Winning by Major Decision were: Anthony Scacca, Jacob Eliades and Tim Norton. Winning by Decision were: Mason Powers, Kevin Moss, Tyler and Colin Cunningham. Ryan Butler had one win on the night but that win tied the team record set last year by Mason Powers for most wins in a season at 19. In intersquad action: Kyle Zuk edged Logan Taricani 12-9, Jeremy Eliades edged Anthony Zovich 2-1, Zach Varley beat Matt Bogden and Logan Taricanni, Tim Norton beat Ethan Renner, Matt Cote beat Erik Labieneic and Sean Pentalow defeated Brendan Butler. Coach Moss was happy with the effort. "All the boys have shown marked improvement since the beginning of the year. We had a very young squad and to finish the season with one loss is truely an indication of how hard these boys worked." Coach Moss also wanted to thank all the parents for their support throughout the season. A group of 15 Minutemen will travel to South Berwick, ME on April 5th to compete in the New England Kids Championships. Click on the title to go to the statistics page for this match.
