Minutemen Youth Wrestling

It was snowing pretty hard by mid-day but that didn't stop the Minutemen from heating up the gym at Griswald High on Sunday. The eleven tournament wrestler's fared well. Wrestling in his first tournament, Nicholas Mangiafico placed 3rd winning two matches on the day. Mighty Mite, Andrew Zovich placed second. Bantams: Colin Cunningham (4 Wins) 2nd, Jeremy Eliades 3rd, and Brendan Butler (3 wins) 1st. Midgets: Anthony Zovich (4 pins) 1st, Jacob Eliades 1st, Ryan Butler 1st, Tyler Cunningham 2nd. Novice: Mason Powers, came down hard on his elbow in his first match and with a tender arm finished the day in 2nd place. Mason has four matches after the injury but wrestled tough through them all, losing a close match 7-4 to place 2nd. Middle School: Sheri Sylvia wrestling in a tough bracket with some very experienced wrestler's worked hard in her four matches but did not place.
