GIRLS VARSITY BASKETBALL · JAN 29 Girls Basketball Defeat Hauser
The Girls Basketball Team ended the regular season portion of its seasons at home vs. Hauser on Thursday night. The Golden Bears defeated Hauser in convincing fashion by a score of 82-32. Shelbyville was led in scoring by Kylee Edwards with 30 points. Jaidyn Tackett scored 10 points and 9 other teammates scored for the Golden Bears. The show was stolen by senior reserve Paige Parsons 4th quarter. Paige netted 7 points including a 3 pointer that caused the entire place to erupt. The Golden Bears finished the regular season at 8-14 which is the best record since 2015-2016’s 12 wins and before that you have to travel all the way back to the 2006-2007 18 win team to find another squad that won more games then this current one. The JV defeated Hauser and ended its season at 9-10 on the year. Again 9 wins for the JV is the most in recent history for a girls basketball JV team. The varsity will travel to Franklin on Tuesday for sectional action vs. Franklin starting at 7:30 pm.
