Lady Bears’ win streak stops at 2
One bad quarter kept Shelbyville from finishing off undefeated Columbus North Tuesday in Columbus.
The Lady Golden Bears built a 16-11 advantage after one quarter but then got outscored 14-2 in the second and never recovered. Columbus North led 25-18 at halftime and 45-31 after three.
“We’ve got to put a full game together,” said Shelbyville coach Amanda Norris. “The second and third quarters have been our lowest scoring quarters this season. Still, our effort was tremendous.”
Chelsey Skipton led Shelbyville (2-2) with 13 points. Raven Hibbard added 11 and Ashley Bush scored 10.
Courtney Larson topped Columbus North (3-0) with 17 points.
Columbus North won the junior varsity contest, 44-22.
Skye-Ann Krise led the Lady Golden Bears (3-1) with seven points.
